DescriptionBanking Application Support Engineer – Working in a busy I.T. Production department you will be part of the Application Support team. The team consists of 20 staff who work alongside the Software Engineering team supporting and developing software products. This is an Application Support role – resolving Incidents and Problems. There may be some opportunity to work alongside staff in the software engineering team on development projects but this is not the team’s main objective. Staff must be used to high pressure banking environments where deadlines are required to be met – some flexibility with working hours is expected. Technical Essential: Unix Solaris 10; Oracle WebLogic; jBASE and XML. Desirable: Oracle ESB/ALSB; Temenos t24 releases 9 or Above; SWIFT or Clearcase. Experience: Worked in an application support role in an investment bank with a demonstrable knowledge of financial products and models. Experience of testing and presenting test results would be highly desirable. Demonstrable experience of problem solving in a production environment would be beneficial. Business knowledge of Financial markets and pricing models. Exposure to ITIL or similar would be an advantage. Application Support - Banking sector.
