Description• To manage the provision of a first class retail and wholesale finance service primarily to construction/agricultural dealers and direct as well as to potential new customers within a specified geographical area, in order to maximise the levels of profitable business to the finance/leasing company • The role involves active account management of dealers in the provision of retail finance to their customers. • This position will home-based within the sales territory and involves extensive travel around the territory. Key Responsibilities: • Achieve budgeted volume and profit figures for designated area by maximising all sales opportunities • Negotiate and sign up Retail Finance Deals as necessary. • Underwrite Retail Finance deals within the Company Underwriting Mandate. Prepare professional and accurate proposals for the Credit Department for any deals outside the Area Manager Mandate. • Identify all dealer sales staff training needs in the use of “Retail Finance” on every sale, taking remedial action as required to ensure budgeted levels of dealer signed business are achieved. • On at least a monthly basis liaise with other area staff to ensure maximum benefit is being achieved with the resource available. • At least once per month meet each Dealer Principal to review dealer performance, agree future “local” promotion identify individual salesman’s performances on both volume and quality and mutually agree remedial action if necessary. • Meet Regional Manager at least every 2 months to review performances against business plan and agree future objectives. • Regularly report on competitor's activities within each dealership. • Maintain regular weekly contact with designated Sales Support Coordinator and ensure all sales staff within the area are aware of the and fully utilise this function. • In conjunction with H.O. collection staff manage and control defaults within the area to agreed company standards. • Ensure Finance promotional material is kept fully up to date, prominently displayed and properly distributed • Ensure Dealer Stock Audits are conducted within the company guidelines and at the timing as specified by Credit. • Support dealer and manufacture at local and national shows. Skills & Experience: • At least 3 years sales and marketing experience, preferably face-to-face and preferably within the Construction/ Agricultural or Banking/ Finance Industry. • Ability to work unsupervised in a productive and disciplined manner. Ability to prioritise, plan and manage time effectively • Ability to use system to electronically submit new business proposals, enquiries and correspondence. • Ability to communicate, empathise and influence effectively and present a professional image • Control own cost and expenditure to within acceptable levels. • Comfortable working with complex transactions.
