SpecificationsLocation:Birmingham Salary: £16,000 - £19,000 depending on experience plus banking benefits, holiday and pension The Role Our client are responsible for the procurement of 80,000 vehicles each year,
The role holder will be responsible for processing purchase orders and managing them through the order to delivery cycle, in particular selecting which supplier to place an order with to maximise “best bid” opportunities and enhance profit delivered by the business.
They will provide service support to our internal customers, ensuring service levels, cost control, and orders are managed to agreed timescales.
Your duties will include:
Establishing and maintaining appropriate service level measures for sales channels, taking responsibility for the achievement of these standards, delivering a timely service
Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills to create strong commercial relationships with sales teams, and suppliers and actively practise and promote a quality customer service ethos both internally and externally
Understanding the market and be able to source product as necessary to meet customer requirements, whilst also taking the opportunity to maximise profit contribution by selecting the most appropriate supplier to maximise commercial terms.
The Candidate You must have previous experience in a purchasing role in a dealership, or car rental / finance organisation.
You must have previous very good knowledge of the relevant procedures, products and services in own areas of responsibility, including interpretation of and application of best practices, and able to immediately recognise a range of options when matching these to business/customer needs
Written Communication / Oral Communication and Analytical Skills due to organising and writing accurate reports as well as liaising with suppliers
Must have a very good understanding of the Business’ overall aims, structures, policies, operations, systems and culture. Able to assess the impact of change on products, systems, processes and people.
